Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare cocktails, craft beverages, and drink menu selections according to orders
• Ensure all ingredients, garnishes, and beverages are fresh and safe for consumption
• Maintain a clean and organized bar, practicing proper hygiene and safe beverage handling at all times
• Serve drinks promptly, ensuring ticket times are reasonable
• Create and assist in developing daily or seasonal specialty drinks
• Use bar equipment and tools safely and respectfully, avoiding damage
• Notify management when bar equipment needs maintenance, repair, or replacement
• Prepare drinks in accordance with customer preferences or dietary restrictions
• Track orders and components to ensure drinks are served correctly and efficiently
• Work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain bar work areas, utensils, and glassware in clean and orderly condition
• Set up and close the bar properly at the beginning and end of each shift
• Communicate effectively with service staff and management under high-pressure conditions
• Report accidents, spills, or safety issues promptly
• Maintain consistent attendance in accordance with Bib’s Ribs attendance policy
• Attend all required trainings and meetings
• Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Maintain a professional appearance and follow Bib’s Ribs dress code for bar staff

Required knowledge, skills and abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Prior bartending or mixology experience preferred
• Knowledge of cocktail preparation, beverage recipes, and bar equipment
• Ability to memorize drink menus and recipes
• Possess or be able to obtain any required alcohol service certifications (e.g., TIPS or Pennsylvania state certification)
• Strong desire for continuous learning and professional development
• Compliance with all beverage safety and hygiene procedures
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Ability to make effective decisions under pressure
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Works well in a team environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety
• Responsible and trustworthy
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Ability to lift items from floor to counter or overhead
• Frequent twisting, reaching, and grasping of objects
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours)
• Frequent hand washing required
• Ability to hear, comprehend, and follow instructions in a noisy environment
• Visual ability to read labels, measure ingredients, and assess beverage quality

EQUIPMENT USAGE REQUIREMENTS

• Proper use of glassware, shakers, and muddlers
• Safe handling of knives and bar utensils
• Knowledge of plates, serving trays, and cutting boards
• Operation of dish machine and ice bins
• Responsible handling of ingredients, garnishes, and other bar products
  

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Typical restaurant/bar setting with varying temperature conditions
• Exposure to heat and air conditioning in kitchen and dining areas
• Cold temperatures in freezers and walk-in refrigerators
• Occasional sudden temperature changes when working outdoors or during opening/closing procedures
